Private Sessions

I believe that we all contain what we need to heal, and that we all deserve support in clearing the path towards what we need.

We are relational beings. Healing involves understanding our relationship to self, each other and the world around us, and continually tending to those relationships so they are as well aligned and generative as possible.

There is an overemphasis on individuals for their psychological distress when we exist within a system that is set up for some to thrive at the expense of others who do not have access to what they need to survive. Trauma refers not only to individual acts of harm but to systems of oppression, the “imperialist white supremacist capitalist patriarchy” (bell hooks).

I practice decolonized wellness: we cannot be expected to be well when we are disconnected from each other and the land, with a lack of opportunity for creative expression, subject to extractive capitalism, active climate collapse etc. When we take only the individual into account, so much of what it takes to heal is missed.

For me, a trauma-informed approach means not only understanding that systems of oppression exist, but actively striving to dismantle them, internally, interpersonally, and in the way I structure my practice.

We decolonize our therapies to understand that when an environment is toxic, its inhabitants will eventually either wither and die or assimilate and conform

I offer flexible private sessions for individuals, couples and small groups. I work predominantly remotely with creative options for meeting in person, including outdoor mindfulness sessions and marking meaningful events (for example grief anniversaries, relationship commitment or decoupling ceremonies). I offer both phone and video calls, depending on what fits best for our work together. Single sessions, or short packages can be a convenient way of getting support quickly, addressing specific events and life transitions, or planning a longer program of work together.

Particular areas of expertise include:

  • Relationship with the self: developing an expansive and fully actualized relationship with yourself in order to improve your overall functioning and relationship with others

  • Intimacy and sex, including addressing peripartum and perimenopausal changes in sex and intimacy

  • Dating coaching

  • Polyamory and other non-monogamous relational structures

  • Divorce/separation, conscious uncoupling

  • Intentional cohabitation/changes in living formations including long-distance relationship support

  • Trauma: personal, systemic and generational
